Changing from solvent base paint systems to waterborne is easy with SATA equipment

We will provide an excerpt of our product range for car refinishing shortly - just click the product names or the links for further information.

Paint spray guns:
The corrosive effects of waterborne are very harmful to spray guns. Spray guns must be highly resistant to corrosion both internally and externally when spraying waterbased products.
As a result the SATAjet 3000 HVLP and RP as well as the SATAminijet 4 gun bodies are now plated with a new, high gloss Chrome finish. That ensures excellent external corrosion protection and easy cleaning.
Furthermore the material passages have a special coating process to enhance internal corrosion protection.
Naturally the SATAjet 3000 includes stainless steel paint needles and fluid tips.
Other great ergonomics were a key issue in the design of the SATAjet 3000. SATA developed a solution for left-handed painters.
An add-on kit for the SATAjet 3000 offers a means of retrofitting a fan control to the right hand side of the spray gun. The all new Digital or standard version SATAjet 3000 HVLP and SATAjet 3000 RP is lighter with
softer trigger pull and Quick Change air cap.
A rounded handle and controls that adopt the current retro look contribute to a product that is easy to service and maintain.
Respirators:
Protection from breathing oil vapor and dangerous overspray from waterborne (and solvent base) is essential. The SATA vision 2000 supplied air respirator is a type C continuous flow loose fitting supplied air respirator with full-face shield that protects the entire head and respiratory system.
The activated charcoal filter eliminates oil vapor and the SATA vision 2000 supplied air respirator protects the worker from breathing toxic overspray. Respiratory protection as well as monitoring for Carbon Monoxide are legal requirements for user health in the work place.
Compressed air filter systems:
Two stage filter systems such as the SATA 0/444 are standard equipment in many quality body shops. The 0/444 filter unit achieves compressed air quality standards to less than 0.01 micron. However, 0/444 two stage systems do not remove oil vapor when it is carried downstream with compressed air. Oil vapor or residue can sometimes be recognized by odor and it causes problems.
Therefore body shops must pay close attention to air quality. Particular importance must be placed on air purification for breathing air and removing contamination for painting. Even small quantities of oil vapor can cause coating defects.
Oil residue usually causes very small silicone-like craters in coatings that become a definite problem. Costly rework must be done regardless of whether conventional solvent-based or waterborne material is used.
Activated charcoal filters improve compressed air quality without any limits. SATA offers an add-on activated charcoal filter unit, the 0/464 that easily connects to any existing SATA filter unit. New installations of air purification systems in the spray booth are easy with triple stage units that include an activated charcoal stage. These include the SATA 0/484 and the SATA 0/494. The only performance difference between the two models is an extra air module on the 0/494 for two additional hose connections:
Waterborne Drying Systems:
Waterborne dries slower than solvent base products. The SATA dry jet is a practical, lightweight blowgun that significantly increases air volume.
Waterborne products dry much faster when high volume airflow removes moisture from the coated surface. The venturi injection principle multiplies air volume and an air intake filter prevents contamination of the surface coating.
The SATA dry jet is equipped with a shut-off valve and air consumption is only 9.4 cfm at 35 psi.
The SATA dry jet blowgun may be held by hand or mounted on a stand. The accessory stand is available for drying larger surfaces or unattended use. Up to three SATA dry jet blowguns can be mounted and aimed at the
coated surface. The blowguns turn and rotate 360º and the stand is adjustable. A special width extension is available for a 3rd blowgun as well as a height extension.

Smart investments in the right SATA waterborne equipment for filters, respirators, spray guns and drying systems will ensure trouble free work for fantastic waterborne paint jobs – the SATA easy way.
